On September 11, 2015, a medium-term contract was signed for the sale and purchase of up to 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The signing took place in the presence of Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee; Elshad Nasirov, Vice President for Marketing and Investment at SOCAR; Elena Burmistrova, Director General of Gazprom Export; and Nizami Piriyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AzMeCo.

The contracted gas supply was intended to ensure a guaranteed 100% capacity utilization of the Garadagh Methanol Plant.
