First Batch of Methanol Sold to BP Oil International Ltd.
On September 18, 2014, at approximately 3:07 AM, loading of the first batch of methanol sold by AzMeCo to BP Oil International Ltd. commenced at the port of Poti, Georgia, onto the YM Uranus tanker.

Methanol is increasingly recognized as a key alternative fuel of the 21st century. It is a vital chemical used in the production of numerous industrial and consumer goods. Among its many applications, methanol is a primary component in the production of dimethyl ether (DME), a clean, environmentally friendly substitute for diesel fuel.

Coordination of freight transport, along with the preparation of shipping and customs documentation, was managed by GNPC, AzMeCo’s exclusive transport agent.
