First Methanol Exports from Azerbaijan!
On May 14, 2014, at approximately 9:45 PM, AzMeCo completed its first export shipment of methanol to Turkey via tank trucks. This milestone marks the beginning of methanol exports from Azerbaijan.
AzMeCo is the sole operator of a methanol production facility in Azerbaijan that is certified in full compliance with international standards. The company has invested approximately $500 million in the construction of the plant. Natural gas for the facility is supplied by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
Freight coordination was handled by GNPC, AzMeCo’s exclusive transport agent.
