Students of Moscow State University’s Baku Branch Visit AzMeCo Methanol Plant
On May 1, 2014, students and faculty members from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Baku branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University visited the AzMeCo methanol plant located in the Garadagh District.
Following a safety briefing, the students met with the plant’s engineering team, who provided in-depth information on the methanol production process. It was emphasized that methanol production is considered one of the cleanest and most environmentally friendly processes within the petrochemical industry.
The visit included a guided tour of the facility, during which students had the opportunity to explore the plant’s technical units and state-of-the-art control room, gaining a comprehensive understanding of methanol production operations.
This marks the third visit by students of the Faculty of Chemistry to the AzMeCo plant. To support education in this field, AzMeCo has established a dedicated scholarship at the university. Students awarded this scholarship are guaranteed employment with the company upon graduation.
