On February 7, 2013, a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited the methanol plant operated by AzMeCo in the Garadagh district of Baku. The delegation included Mr. Mahammad Isa Mesbah, Head of Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and Mr. Mahammad Ayyub Samadi, Advisor to the Embassy of Afghanistan in Azerbaijan.

During the visit, the guests were provided with a comprehensive overview of the AzMeCo Methanol Project, including its production capabilities, technological features, and strategic importance for the region. Company representatives presented the plant as a model for sustainable and environmentally friendly chemical manufacturing in the Caspian region.

Mr. Mahammad Isa Mesbah emphasized the significance of methanol production as a transformative project and expressed his enthusiasm for potential collaboration between Afghanistan and AzMeCo. He noted the value of leveraging AzMeCo’s expertise to support industrial development and knowledge transfer initiatives in Afghanistan.

Following the plant tour, a business meeting was held between the Afghan delegation and AzMeCo executives to explore opportunities for future cooperation and potential joint ventures in the petrochemical sector.

This visit reflects the growing interest of regional partners in AzMeCo’s experience and capabilities, and underscores the company’s commitment to fostering international partnerships in the field of energy and petrochemicals.
