Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister Visits AzMeCo Methanol Plant
On January 16, 2013, a delegation from the Republic of Slovenia led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Mr. Radovan Žerjav, visited the AzMeCo methanol plant in the Garadagh district of Baku.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the plant’s advanced infrastructure and ongoing operations. Mr. Žerjav expressed his admiration for the fact that a 100% privately owned Azerbaijani company was able to successfully develop such a technologically complex industrial project.
He noted that the AzMeCo methanol plant represents one of the most significant industrial initiatives in Azerbaijan, emphasizing its potential to contribute meaningfully to the country’s sustainable economic growth.

Following the site visit, a business meeting was held between the AzMeCo leadership and the Slovenian delegation, where both parties discussed potential areas of bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, petrochemicals, and industrial development.

This visit underscores the growing international recognition of AzMeCo’s role in driving industrial innovation in the region and highlights the potential for enhanced economic collaboration between Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
